Reese Witherspoon and her husband Jim Toth were arrested on Friday in Atlanta after having a few too many drinks.
Jim was booked for suspected DUI - and Reese was booked for disorderly conduct.
US Weekly says that the arresting officer said Reese ignored his orders to remain in the car during Jim's sobriety test. Reese even said: "Do you know my name? . . . You're about to find out who I am."
The officer wrote in the report that Reese "stated that she was a 'US citizen' and that she was allowed to 'stand on American ground'" and "You are going to be on national news.''
A court date is scheduled for this morning, but reports say it might be rescheduled.
Reese has since released a statment saying:
"Out of respect for the ongoing legal situation, I cannot comment on everything that is being reported right now. But I do want to say, I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said."
"It was definitely a scary situation and I was frightened for my husband, but that is no excuse. I was disrespectful to the officer who was just doing his job. I have nothing but respect for the police and I'm very sorry for my behavior."
