Nick Cannon Speaks Out About the Idol Drama

Nick Cannon is speaking out on the ongoing drama between his wife Mariah Carey and her fellow American Idol judge Nicki Minaj. We’ve been talking about it for the past few weeks now and the on-set feuding between Nicki and Mariah has been happening more and more. Nick says his wife “didn’t sign up for that”. He also said that Mariah suspected there would be drama with Nicki Minaj and even tried to tell the network that she was afraid it wasn’t going to work with the two of them. Mariah said she didn’t have to do Idol for her career, but she did it because she is a fan of Idol. Nick Cannon also accused Idol producers of being the reason behind all of the drama - and Mariah has been taking the high road!

Grammy winner Lauryn Hill (who is a former member of the Fugees) pled guilty last year to failing to pay taxes of around $1 million dollars. Well yesterday, she was sentenced to three months in prison. She had faced a maximum of three years behind bars (a year for each of the three counts of not paying taxes in 2005, 2006, and 2007). She told the court during her sentencing that she faithfully paid her taxes while she was “working consistently,” and “only stopped when it was necessary to withdraw from society, in order to guarantee the safety and well-being of herself and her family. It is not clear yet where or when Lauryn will report to prison.

Even Bill Clinton can’t get Led Zeppelin to reunite! The former president was asked to meet with the band and convince them to get back together last year for the Superstorm Sandy benefit concert in New York City. Led Zeppelin's surviving members Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page were in Washington just before the Sandy concert for the Kennedy Center Honors. Bill Clinton met with them, asked… and they said no. Led Zeppelin last played publicly at a one-night reunion in London in 2007.
